**NYC SEASON PERFORMANCE**
MISNOMER PRESENTS: “TOES OF A SNAIL”

April 20 - 24, 2005 at 7pm
Chris Elam's Misnomer Dance Theater merges fast-action modern dance, humor and theater with LIVE MUSIC and influences from recent projects in Cuba, Indonesia, Turkey, and Brazil.

The centerpiece of the evening is the World Premiere of “Toes of a Snail”, a piece that explores the palette of emotions, ranging from pleasure to anguish, that drive the interpersonal connections people forge with one another.

Inspired by Elam's two-month choreographic commission in Cuba, “Toes of a Snail” lives in a delightfully warm yet volatile environment, punctuated by absurd and fantastical events, and coupled with the melodic and wry new music performed live by rock composer Rob Erickson. Costumes: Sarah McMillian.

Performers are Brynne Billingsley, Abbey Dehnert, Chris Elam, Jennifer Harmer, Dorian Nuskind-Oder, and Adam Scher.

If you see us once this year, this is the one.
