Peter Sherman, a painter from Sweeden, has painted a series of 40+ works based on still images from Misnomer’s videos. He has a NYC gallary opening in Chelsea this Thursday, featuring his series of paintings of Misnomer at the Agora Gallary at 530 West 25th St, Feb 10 – 25.

Peter is kindly donating 100% of proceeds to Misnomer from the paintings he sells both at the exhibition in NY and online through the weblink below. Please take a look at the paintings online and share with anyone whom you think might be interested. Paintings are for sell at ARTmine at this link

Here’s an interview by the Agora Gallary of Peter about the works inspired by Misnomer and with some of the paintings.

We got a chance to work with the musicians, work out our lighting issues and go over the timing for our Joyce SoHo performances. During our residency at the Baryshnikov Arts Center, a production team came out to our rehearsals and shot the footage. For a sampling of what you can see on the site, you can watch the clip below. As you may know, we’ve doing a lot of film and video work, recently collaborating in choreographing a video for Bjork, as well as working with Tronic Studios to create the motion-capture trailer for ResFest, a prominent film festival. We firmly believe that there are lots of interesting ways in which choreographers and film directors can create together, and we hope this Sundance Feature becomes part of this ongoing dialogue.

At least for now. Along with Keigwin & Co., Future Perfect played to a full house at Skirball. The power of the press… We had a NYTimes review and Kristin Sloan’s great write up on The Winger. While Skirball did a great job in putting a diverse program together, I’m sure these pieces probably had something to do with it as well . . .

Keigwin’s pieces were phenomenal – if you missed the show, I hope you’ll have another chance to catch this incredibly lively company. Keigwin did a great job in combining popular culture with experimental dance. The dancers were not only graceful and athletic, but they were acrobatic as well. I really enjoyed the infusion of the Capoiera choreography throughout the second piece, Natural Selection.

These photos below were taken during our Saturday performance of Future Perfect. I was hoping to upload these during the show, but there was no cell phone coverage backstage. While there was no cell phone coverage, there was wifi coverage. Maybe next show, I’ll stream video via Quicktime Broadcaster! Has anyone tried that before? In any case, enjoy the photos!
