We hope you’ll join us this Thursday, July 16th at Summer Stages Dance in Concord, MA.

We’ll be performing Being Together, which premiered at Joyce Soho this past December. The night will feature a performance of Zipper, with music by Evan Ziporyn from Bang on a Can All-Stars fame.

Summer Stages:: Audience Feedback

On July 12, Misnomer performed Tin Man, Landflat, and Throw People to a very receptive audience. For a full review of the night, follow the link.

After the show, we invited the audience to record their impressions and feedback. To facilitate the process, we set up two macBooks with iSights. Here’s what they had to say:

As part of our Presenter Partnership with Summer Stages, we wanted to provide the audience an opportunity to develop a relationship with the work beyond the theater. We will be responding to these questions among others on the blog.

Summer Stages Dance Classes

As part of the the Summer Stages Dance/Baryshnikov Arts Center Artist Residency Project, Misnomer has been teaching a class called “Improbable Partnering and Exceptional Physical Interactions.” Follow the link for a description of the class.

To encourage pariticipation and documentation for the participating students, we are set up a Mac with an iSight (a webcam) to record impressions, thoughts, and questions after the class.

Summer Stages Residency

This summer, we’re going places – literally! As part of a 6 week residency program, we’ll be putting together workshops, shows, and other events. Don’t miss us this July.

Misnomer is in residence at Summer Stages Dance as the first time winner of the Summer Stages Dance/Baryshnikov Arts Center Artist Residency Project.

As part of the residency, we will be teaching workshops, performing, rehearsing and developing our presenter partnership. You can see us perform live on July 12 or catch some of the show here, online.

In July and August, we will be in Concord, MA (as well as Martha’s Vineyard at The Yard) developing new work. As the second part of the Summer Stages residency, we will be working at the Baryshnikov Arts Center this Fall. We can’t wait to meet so many new people and share our work with you!
