Transparency in The Arts
The New York Times wrote an interesting article on businesses running out of home offices. As part of the article, Misnomer created a video to give a glimpse of the inner workings of a dance company. She writes,
“Chris Elam’s Misnomer is a big proponent of transparency. His company videotapes rehearsals and even office meetings for posting on its video blog, which allows audiences to get a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to run a dance company.”

Misnomer’s Shows+ Google Maps
Using Google’s personalized maps, Misnomer is connecting online audiences to their performances. In addition to providing the address to the next shows, Misnomer is giving patrons the ability to see pictures and videos to influence ticket sales.
Misnomer’s Presenter Partnership
Misnomer’s presenter partnership works to create a model where artists can help create value for presenter’s websites. In recent residencies, Misnomer has produced online content to help bolster the venue’s online presence. Additionally, we consult with presenters to build out capabilities for presenting artists’ work online.
Summer Stages :: Audience Feedback
On July 12, Misnomer performed Tin Man, Landflat, and Throw People to a very receptive audience. After the show, we invited the audience to record their impressions and feedback. To facilitate the process, we set up two MacBooks with iSights. This was a great way to gather feedback and audiences were glad to share their thoughts.
