Misnomer is collaborating with interactive media and technology artists at Blue Noise Productions in Holland to create a study on the multiplicity of the self. The work will be manifested in multiple forms as a:
- tourable live stage performance
- dance art film for festivals
- series of digital life paintings to project on high-definition home flat televisions and screen-savers.
The work is being developed through a commission at The Skirball Center for the Performing Arts at New York University.
The below footage are clips of sketches in progress, samples from the beginning days of our research. The samples are not composited layers processed in post-production; they are live creations, evolving in real time. The drawing, video manipulation, and human motion were all created simultaneously in a fresh, live exchange between the three artists. In future developments, the situations, angles and exact moments will be rehearsed such that themes and storylines emerge. The effects and ideas that you see here are just the beginning.
