Misnomer Repertory

Misnomer Dance Theater Touring Programs

Program A

THROW PEOPLE

LAND FLAT

TIN MAN”

Program A consists of a trio, a quartet and Elam’s signature solo. This evening is a highly physical and outrageous exploration by human-like beings who aim to express themselves and impact one another. The evening strikes an earnest tone that is simultaneously humorous and thoughtful.

“Throw People/Land Flat” was named one of the Top Ten Dance Performances in NYC for 2006 by The New York Times. The piece also earned Misnomer a spot in Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch” and a residency at The Baryshnikov Dance Foundation.

Program B

TOO LATE TULIP

ROCK. PAPER. FLOCK.

ZIPPER

Program B is Misnomer’s much anticipated new production to premiere in Fall 2008. This program has already received great acclaim in preview showings at The Yard, Summer Stages Dance, and The Baryshnikov Arts Center. Including an original composition by Evan Ziporyn of the Bang on a Can All-Stars (a 2007 USA Fellow), this piece can be toured with live music. We’d be happy to discuss pre-booking.

ALSO AVAILABLE TO TOUR:

Repertory – Misnomer has an active repertory of fourteen pieces, ranging from 4 – 60 minutes, from which we can create an evening that suits a presenter’s needs. To see our other works, please see our website or speak with us and we will provide video and synopses.

Three Dancer Program – To accommodate a range of theaters and fee structures, we have created a program for three dancers instead of the full six-dancer company. This program includes the award-winning “Throw People” and “Tin Man”.

All programs are suited to both large and intimate theaters.
